On this Thanksgiving's week I'm thank for a lot of things. Parents, family, friends and Mentors.
(My Parents, My God Father Ed Crenshaw, Scout Master William Watkins, Coaches Richard Perry, Travis Brown, James Blaylock , EQ MGR Dick Mattson, Harry Broadfoot and Head Athletic Jim Marshall. ) None more than Coach Lawrence Walls. We called him Coach, the big Man and jokingly and Daddy Walls. He had an effect on so many young men & women in the Inner City of St. Louis(AKA as The Ville.) We discussed growing the Ville and how he was hand picked to the Bulldogs football program. How his big break was being mentored by the Legendary Grambling Coach football Eddie Robinson. How he had expectations for those connected with the program to give their best on and off the field. He and Coach Perry were a gateway to college for so many young men. (including an young Trainer/Manager ---Me) Get good grades, play more than one sport and stay out trouble. Use the game , don't let the game use you. 248 Wins, 53 loses & 2 Ties
