With the world of college sports spinning ever so faster. I asked a simple question.
Should there be a draft in college sports? I would love hear from all you on that one.
The main topic for this week is surrounding the talk that All Could Collapse. What am I talking about. The ACC of course. With members suing the conference and blaming ESPN of being a bad partner. The schools of the ACC found out a couple of things in the past few weeks. One, they will be 30-60 million dollars per behind the schools of the B1G and SEC. This is the main reason why Clemson joined the party in suing the ACC. Clemson wants out and they want to join either the B1G or SEC. The other fact the school of the ACC learned. ESPN could opt of its TV deal with the conference. Leaving the ACC twist in the wind and try to find better revenues and a better TV deal. ESPN has many reason to do so. What recourse does the ACC schools have? Sue to get and that line is getting longer or they could vote to dissolve the conference. Why would they that? At least they could call their shot and start a new or just split up on their on terms. They have until July 2025 to do so. This going to be a B1G story in the weeks to come in College sports.

I was joined in Studio by my Son John Blackshear II, (Jay Bee Jay).
Even I could hear him in Studio, the Mic did not catch his voice, maybe we can do it again.
It was cool that he sat in, now if I could get him to really crack the mic. LOL
I could see his body movements and facial expressions when I laid down some info.
I covered the new rules changes of college football. Next year the helmet communication devices. This should eliminate sign stealing issue and the side show of trying to disguise the play called. It looks like Connor Stallions will be out of work. Also, there will be a 2 minutes warning at the end of the 2nd qtr and 4th qtr. The TV people get a time out at the most dramatic times of the game guaranteed.
Why did Trev Alberts leave the school he played for and take a job at Texas A&M?
The format for the 2026 CFP was agreed to and was approved. The SEC and B1G tried flex with its new found power. The wanted to get 4 automatic bids in the CFP. The G5, Big XII and the ACC called the bluff of the B1G and Sec, who stated if that if the They didn't get there way, they would leave the CFP and take their conference teams and start their own Playoff's with the backing of ESPN and Fox. They would have killed off the CFP 2026 new extended format. When the other conferences said no to that many auto bids . The B1G and SEC gave in and agreed to 1 bid per conference, but they got what they really wanted. The B1G and SEC will get 53% of the CFP MONEY. Why is this important? This week I start off with answering question from my sister Charlotte. Did I hear you right, the schools are suing themselves. Yes, when a school goes to court vs. NCAA, they are going to court against themselves per se. I gave a state of college athletics. The list of story lines that pop ups and fade, to only pop up again.
I touched on the not yet signed TV for the CFP with ESPN and why it's not signed. The CFP format and why the P2 is slowing the future format being finalized.
Why college athletes transferring is not as big as their counterparts.
There are good things that happen within college Athletics.
Why some say the whining of old college Coaches about working too hard and no time off. They are the highest paid employee's in each state. They are jut a bunch old men yelling at clouds. There was a 33 year old coach to paint a totally different picture.
Oh, yeah, I got to the nitty-gritty of what the B1G and SEC are to pull off. Are they just flexing to get more money and power. Are they just doing enough to say "we tried", before they just break off and do their own thing.

Do we have peace in CFB, do we have an agreement for the CFP?
But first, complete a story from last week. George Kliavkoff the Commish of the Pac 12/2 is unemployed. The PAC/2 let him go.
Next I discuss the way some team skirting the I'm out of Scholarships issues for preferred players. Is a loop hole are is it they way of the future.
NIL is wide open for now. The NCAA lost anther court case in Federal court and I talk about the ramification of that in college sports.
Oh, back to the agreement, the CFP is now set. The schools leaders have finally agreed to the 5+7 model=the winner of The B1G, SEC, ACC, Big XII will get an automatic bid to the CFP and be a top 4 seed. Also, the top rated G5 team rated by the college football playoff committee. There is a lot more to this I explain in the podcast.

College sports continue to spin some what out of control. I start up with discussing the alarming amount coaches leaving their jobs for many reason, but with odd results. FSU V. ACC continues to move thru the courts. The ACC has filed a motion to stay or dismiss the case. What's going on with the Commissioner of the PAC12/PAC2. Find out happened to old George, as I did found out in a Friday news dump, he gone. Sorry, I didn't say that in my story. I answered questions, about what else. You guess it College sports. What happened to make college and now high become a hot mess? What effect will NIL have on HBCU's athletes? Who is monitoring gambling when comes to college athletes?

Life isn't easy for most of especially for College Sports. It's just a hot mess. Things are always heating up or on fire due to College educators who unequipped to make decisions to run college sports. Now we T.V. Analyst talking to recruits and attacking schools. The Nick Sabin rumors and possible unethical actions of T.V. networks. The agreement between the B1G & Sec, that at it's best it move the CFP and CFB forward . At it's worst they will split from the rest of the CFB and start their own playoffs. Watch this one it's going to be good. FSU is at it again and do not plan to give up until they are free to go where they get a better deal. As P-Diddy would say , "Can't Stop-Won't Stop". I got a call on from someone was disappeared. I heard from KQ show member, Phillip Wise, AKA the Philly Dawg. I give an update on Philly. Finally I do a 10 minute rant on something near and dear to my heart.

People ask where does the power lie in CFB. Some say Charlie Baker the President of the NCAA. Some say Tony Petitti of the B1G or Greg Sankey of the SEC. Yet other say , it's the Presidents of the schools/Member institutions of the NCAA. I suggest it's none of the above and it's Jimmy Sexton? Jimmy Sexton , who is he? Jimmy is called the agent to the Top Coaches in CFB. He get's them new jobs or have them keep their jobs. No, matter what he get's them more money and power. He is Love, hated and fear by A.D.'s and School presidents. Players change schools due to their coach leaving for greener pastures.
Jimmy is the Puppet Master CFB.
UPDATE: After recording this episode, it was learned Michigan H/C Jim Harbaugh is leaving for the Chargers.

The Season of 2023 was a mess of issues, great games and the need for direction from the adults in the room. Can they guide young people on the field and off the field. Can they do right by them and financially share the gains with the people who actually make the money. Can the adults lead and be proactive, not be reactive or overacted. Can find harmony and share the money with each other and not kill 100's old conferences. Can the leadership just be leaders. Can youth be coachable again or figure out how to decide the places that make since for their future not for their parents dreams. Just, call me crazy, but if money continues to be the lead, them Chaos will be the ruler of the day and will shall be it's master. With saying all that, sit back listen as I re-count the year was in CFB and beyond.

You would think with the football season ending and the conference changes and the death of the Pac XII. Things would finally quiet down and everyone are happy where they are. BUT NO!, some members of the ACC are making noise. Some more than others, but the loudest is Florida State University. They do not want to be left behind in the world of the have v. the have not. I take look at what putting a burr in their saddle. Come along and will try my best to explain why and what FSU is whining about and it has nothing for now to do with the CFP.
