In today's Podcast I explore the the change of power in college sports. Some think with the athletes making money and winning lawsuits. There are still to few who get paid and lawsuits are small steps. Some want to believe and buy into the theory that school Presidents, A.D.'s and Coaches still control on college campuses. Even though they handle the day to day operation of college sports, those people fear another group. The billionaire investor/booster who want to have power on what goes on your favorite college campus. The boosters/investors who used to be okay with standing in the shadows and getting a few perks are now wanting a seat at the table for their investment. They want a voice into what happens. They have learned that with dollars comes more than a T-shirt and a seat on team plane. Listen as I inform you on what they use to be happy to receive for their donations in the past and what they are demanding for their infusion of cash in the future.

I begin todays show updating the world of CFB job news. How was the latest to join the high paid unemployment line. The number of dollars being burned could feed the hunger in the country.
Today's episode is about how Schools in major college Football are shaped by the past and how they try continue to hang on to those beliefs. Even, with teams like Indiana, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech showing they way of the to the top of CFB. Many different people are caught in this loop of belief that the old way is the best way. The press , who should be telling us why it's happening, continue to talk about the top teams of the past. 1, because that's what they and are confrontable discussing or don't believe what they are seeing or 2, they just lazy and talking about the old traditional winners is easy and makes them feel smart.
School presidents, regents and boosters of traditional powers keep burning money in buyouts to hire the big name coaches to win the press conference. Instead of looking at young coaches with winning backgrounds and new innovated ways of doing things. They do this also, because convinced, the old way or know way is the only way.

With the two topics you would think I would place the first topic would be the main topic. As you hear the in the episode the topic is nothing of burger. A bit of dog and pony show. It's about the arrest of NBA Coach and 2 players. You would thinks this was BIG-BIG arrests and story. NAH! I will tell you why it's not and why it's a dog and pony show.
Today's topic is about the Leveling of college sports. Why are Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech and Indiana leading their respected football conferences. There are 3 indigent's that you now need to find your way to the top of football in a season. Two are talked about a lot and third is loudly booed, but if you hit on it, it will turned world of your program around.

I began todays emergency podcast the with new rule changes in the world of the NCAA. The first rule is on one of our favorite topics the Transfer Portal. The NCAA has been meeting with coaches to streamline the portal and they finally have. At least they think they have.
The next rule change was done out of laziness and NO forethought. They were tire of dealing with topic of athletes no being to bet on games. I tell you which games and how this a bad move those in power in college sports.
The Top story cover the firing of former Penn State Coach James Franklin. I give you background on his time there and his success. The failures he could not over come. Who raise the expectation on Coach Franklin and why did those expectation wind up crushing the season and costing him his job. In closing I tell you what his buyout is why Penn State would willing to pay such a large amount CASH. I do start the conversation of what's next for Coach Franklin and family.

I started the podcast with an update on the story of College basketball who continue to run a foul of the gambling rules. They are not betting, they are taking money from under world gamblers who offer these young money to fix their stats. So, the gamblers can take the inside info and bet on prop bets. Young men who are short sided and grab for the quick cash.
Next, the main story was supposed to be how the other conference may look at following the ACC in how they split up the conference media dollars. What is the good, the bad and very ugly of doing this and what is has lead to in the past.
The story became some what of an emergency pod. The firing of 2 head coaches after 2 games. I discuss why this happened now. Also, when it should/could have happened. Why more coaches are on the hot seat this early in the season, after a very quiet off season after last season. What are schools thinking? Who is pulling the trigger on these decisions and are there anymore coming in season and post season.
